Factory6ix is a sub-brand of MaRS Discovery District located in Toronto, with the goal of helping young entrepreneurs gain access to incubator-type centres for their businesses.
I worked with guidance from The Workhouse Design Agency to create several logo concept designs for this new company. The challenge was to embody a playful, utilitarian theme whilst maintaining a refined quality which would represent the nature of Factory6ix.
Among several concepts which were solidified and presented, the “6ix-block” logo displayed on the left was the company’s final choice.
The FACTORY6IX logo consists of two specific elements: The 6IX-Block, and the wordmark. The 6IX-Block, composed of six chevron elements, configured to create the letter “F”. The FACTORY6IX wordmark is set These elements and their relationship to each other must never be altered or modified in any way.
